Rights & Responsibilities and AMSA Dispute Settlement Program
For all interstate moves, the federal government requires all moving companies to provide our customers with two publications: Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move and the American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA) Household Goods Dispute Settlement Arbitration Program Information.
Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move describes the responsibilities of you, as the shipper (or customer), and your rights during the entire moving process. The literature includes explanations of: contracts, services, estimates, charges, liability, and more.
The American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA) Household Goods Dispute Settlement Arbitration Program Information provides details on how to resolve a dispute between you, as the shipper, and the moving company. An independent arbitrator can hear the case to settle the complaint outside of litigation.
Our company will provide you with a copy of these pieces of literature when you book your interstate move. Your Certified Moving Consultant can provide more details during your free in-home estimate.
